    • Robert and Peggy attended the ACTEC Summer Meeting in Washington, D.C. in June (June 22-25, 2023).
    • Robert and Peggy are attending the ACTEC Fall Meeting in Louisville Kentucky from October 26, 2023 to October 29, 2023 and that Robert will speaking on a panel concerning issues that arise in contested guardianship matters.
    • Peggy Knee was quoted in an article. “Estate Planning for Lawyers: Updating Your Documents and Planning for Impending Tax Law Changes”
    • On June 13, 2020, Robert and Peggy spoke on Adult Guardianships at the ACTEC summer meeting in Asheville, North Carolina.
    • Peggy and Robert attended the ACTEC Annual meeting in Boca Raton, FL from March 4 to March 7.
    • On April 28, 2020 Peggy and Robert Knee participate in a ACTEC ALI/CLE webcast on Adult Guardianships.
    • Robert spoke and participated in a group discussion on probate and guardianship litigation topics for the Bergen County Bar Association in Hackensack, New Jersey On January 28, 2020.
    • Robert moderated and presented at a seminar entitled “Hot Trends in Estate Litigation” at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey on February 14, 2019.
    • Peggy was named one of Bergen County’s Top Lawyers for 2018 in the category of Elder Law. The list was published in the November 2018 issue of the Bergen magazine.
    • Peggy moderated the annual Trust and Estate Law Forum at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey on November 13, 2018. Robert also spoke at this seminar on the topic of estate litigation.
    • 2018: The Knee Law Firm, LLC Is celebrating its 20th Anniversary!
    • Both Peggy and Robert were listed in the June, 2018 issue of 201 Magazine as Best in Bergen for Trusts and Estates.
    • On November 13, 2018, for the 20th year, Peggy Sheahan Knee moderated the New Jersey Trust and Estate Law Forum for the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Both she and Robert A. Knee were speakers at the program.
    • On October 5, 2018, Robert A. Knee moderated the Contested Guardianships seminar for the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education. Peggy Sheahan Knee served as a speaker for the program as well.
    • Peggy and Robert attended the summer meeting for ACTEC from 6-20-18 to 6-23-18 in Chicago. During this meeting we attended committee meetings for fiduciary litigation and elder law.
    • On February 15, 2018 Robert A. Knee moderated and lectured at the Hot Trends in Estate Litigation seminar for the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education.
    • News Alert – President Obama signed the 21st Century Cures Act into law on December 13, 2016. The Act contains numerous provisions, but one of interest to family and friends of persons with disabilities concerns special eeds trusts. It is called the “Special Needs Trust Fairness Act” and enables competent individuals who have disabilities to establish their own special needs trusts using their own funds without going to Court. It pertains to (d)(4)(A) trusts, which can be set up with the disabled person’s own funds. It receives its title from 42 U.S. Code Section 1396(d)(4)(A). Until now, a (d)(4)(A) trust, although established with the disabled person’s own funds, could only be established by a parent, grandparent, guardian or the Court. The disabled person could not establish his or her own (d)(4)(A) trust.
    • On November 1, 2017 Peggy moderated the Annual Trust and Estate Law Forum at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick. Robert also spoke at this event.
    • On October 5, 2017 Robert moderated a seminar on Contested Guardianships for the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education.
    • Robert A. Knee of the Knee Law Firm LLC, spoke at a seminar entitled “10th Annual Latest Trends in Estate Litigation” which will be held on February 27, 2017 from 9am to 12:35pm at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
    • Robert A. Knee received the Arthur Horn Award from the Real Property, Trust and Estate Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association on January 25, 2017 for his service to the Section.
    • Robert A. Knee and Peggy Sheahan Knee spoke at a seminar entitled “Handling Contested Guardianships” which will be held on January 24, 2017 from 9 am to 12:35 pm at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Fairfield, New Jersey.
    • Both Robert A. Knee and Peggy Sheahan Knee were rated as outstanding attorneys in 2015 by industry leaders and peers for ethical standards and professional ability. Both professionals have been recognized as Super Lawyers and rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell.
